High Peak LDWA

Welcome to the High Peak group of the Long Distance Walkers Association.

The High Peak group formed in 1974 is the LDWA's oldest group and walks primarily in Derbyshire and the Peak District with a varied program of walks and social events throughout the year. We are a friendly group, and you will be made very welcome on our walks.

The Group also organises the annual 26 and 14 mile Goyt Valley Challenge, which commences in Buxton.

All our walks are published in Strider and on the LDWA website and offer a range of walks throughout the Peak District National Park and the adjoining counties.

Prospective members of the LDWA are also welcome to join our walks which are typically 18 miles or more, at a reasonable pace. These walks usually take about 8 hours to complete and it is advisable to be appropriately equipped for the terrain and forecast weather conditions, and carry food and drink for the duration of the walk.

If you have any news items, photos or other topical materials that would be of interest to the group, please send it to either Jim Bosworth (Chair), Rachel Toplis (Group Secretary) or Sandra Butcher (Walks Secretary).

Details of all our walks and events can be found under Our Walks

To see what we've been up to recently, please take a look at our Facebook page.

If you can't find what you are looking for, or have any comments, please contact our group secretary highpeak.secretary@ldwa.org.uk

We look forward to meeting you.
