Greetings to all LDWA members

Welcome to the website of the East Yorks group of the LDWA.

East Yorkshire Social Walks are back

Following the recent announcement from the NEC social walks can now comprise of up to 30 walkers, including the leader.

Places on the walks need to be booked in advance and the details for this will accompany each walk on the website.
I will not publish the exact starting point, grid reference etc - to ensure all places are booked.
It will be supplied when a place on the walk has been confirmed.

If you want to more details about a walk please contact Graham or the leader.

An NEC Social Walk Risk Assessment needs to be completed by the leader for every walk. We also need to keep a record of all attendees, please bring your membership card with you on the walk to assist this.
Social distancing must take place on the walk; please carry hand sanitiser and some PPE - minimum a facemask for emergencies.

The programme will be planned a couple of months in advance and, obviously, will depend upon the absence of local lockdowns.
If you can lead a walk please contact Graham to arrange a convenient date -

Rudloph's Romp in December 5th - Cancelled

Regrettably, we have taken the decision to cancel this event. This was not taken lightly.

The event involves many helpers (several over 70 years of age) and passes through many local communities, it also requires access to Brantingham Village Hall.
Under the current circumstances we cannot safely operate checkpoints with food and water; it is not acceptable for large numbers of walkers to pass through these communities and finally, if any walkers retire from the event transporting them back to base whilst maintaining social distancing would be tricky.

Weighing up these points, and the need to decide now, has led us to the conclusion that the event should be cancelled.
We appreciate that will be a disappointment to everyone, but I am sure you can understand the reason why we have come to this conclusion.

Scarborough Rock in January 2021. - Cancelled

This event was due to take place just s few weeks after Rudolph. We believe the above criteria will probably still apply.

We intend to hold The Rock in 2022
