RAY OF SUNSHINE WALK

Stormin’ Norman’s 7Th Annual “Ray of Sunshine” walk on Sunday 9th May was, as usual, a fantastic success. 28 people completed the 21 mile route out from the Blundell Arms pub at Horwich to the Malt House at Whittle-le-Woods and after a good nosh made the return journey.

As always this charity event was superbly supported and assisted by the landlords of both hostelries. They had even set aside a little area for everyone at the Malt House and sandwiches were provided. Perhaps there was an ulterior motive in keeping smelly walkers away from their more upmarket clientele!

Amongst those running the risk of blistered and sore feet in completing the course were nine year olds Josh Thomas and James Keating. What a wonderful achievement! Yet again this sponsored event will raise hundreds of pounds for Bolton Hospice. Norman is hopeful it could even hit the two thousand pound mark this year. Well done everyone!
