In the light of the fast moving Coronavirus pandemic we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the Cerne Giant Challenge. I am sure you understand that we must prioritise the health and well being of entrants and their families, as well as the army of helpers and volunteers who make our events happen.

The route description and GPX files are now available for download. Please note that route descriptions will not be provided at the registration, please print a copy for your use on the event.

This challenge event offers the choice of a 30 or a 20 mile route in 11 hours. Starting from the village of Cerne Abbas, site of the famous Cerne Giant, the route will take in some of the best downland and river valleys of Dorset, passing through Alton Pancras, Lyscombe Chapel, Bingham's Melcombe (30 route only), the Dorsetshire Gap, Buckland Newton and Sydling St Nicholas (also 30 route only).
The event will start and finish at Cerne Abbas Village Hall (GR ST663014 Link to map). There is free parking in the vicinity – please park considerately and follow the advice of the marshals.There will be three checkpoints on the 30 mile route, two on the 20 mile route.
Includes light refreshments at checkpoints and a light meal at the end.
No dogs.
Please bring your own mug.
Start Time
Rolling Start - You must get your tally card scanned prior to starting. You may start between 08:00 and 09:00 but you should time your start so not arrive at CP1 (7.3 miles) before it opens at 09:30. The CP will not open or offer any services before this time.
All participants must finish by 7:00pm - a cut off will be applied.

Entries will open on Sunday 6th October 2019. The closing date for entries will be Sun 8th Mar 2020 (or sooner if full). No entries on the day.
Entries are not transferable.

Personal information submitted as part of this entry form will be held by the event organisers for a period of up to three years after the event is held for the purposes of managing this event only. Photographs are likely to be taken at the event, which may be featured in Strider magazine or on LDWA websites. In addition, Summary Information* may be published immediately and may be held in perpetuity for the purposes of providing a record of the event. You will have the right to request that all your personal summary information be anonymised.
* Summary information is limited to the participant’s name, age, gender, postal town, email address, LDWA membership number, event name and date, distance covered, time recorded.
