This was another of Paul’s excellent excursions from Brampton taking ten of us some 20 miles through largely unfamiliar country either side of Hadrian’s wall. Conditions were good for walking - a fine cloudy day with a cool breeze and dry ground underfoot.
The highlight of the day once again was Mary’s superb cream tea at Irthing Park. Mark 3 is eagerly awaited though once again participants will have to walk 20 miles before qualifying for tea!

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
