Bude Beast 2022


The third Bude Beast challenge walk will be taking place on Sunday 26th June 2022.. There is a choice of 18, 24 or 30 mile routes.

The routes, consisting of inland footpaths, farmland, wooded valleys, the Bude canal and coast path. Start and finish in the Cornish town of Bude. The coastal section is one of the most remote and rugged sections of the South West Coastal Footpath. Total ascent on the 30-mile route is 5700 feet.

Walkers Start: 8.00am

Runners Start: 9.00am

All to finish by 7.30pm

A full route description will be available to download from this web page about 10 days before the event. YOU WILL NEED TO PRINT OFF A COPY OF THE ROUTE DESCRIPTION BEFOREHAND, BECAUSE THERE WILL BE NONE PROVIDED ON THE DAY.

Light refreshments and cold drinks will be provided at checkpoints.A pasty with hot or cold drinks will be provided at the finish.PLEASE BRING A MUG AS NONE WILL BE PROVIDED ON THE EVENT.

A Certificate will be provided to all finishers.

Entry Fees are: LDWA Member - £12.00   Non-Member - £18.00

Entriy is via Si-entries and is limited to 300 participants and there will be no entries accepted on the day.

Entries close on Sunday 5th June (or sooner if entry limit is reached)

Due to the large amount of grazing animals no dogs will be allowed.

Please carry plenty of fluids, the final legs of the route are tough, especially the 24 and 30 routes.

Although a summer walk entrants should ensure they carry sufficient kit to undertake the challenge in the prevailing conditions.

Waterproof clothing, adequate footwear, hat, sun block, additional food, water bottle, map and compass, basic first aid are suggested.
