Minutes of August 2019 Meeting

Minutes of meeting held on 14/8/2019

 Present - 9 members

Apologies for Absence: None


The September meeting will be cancelled due to a lot of active group members being on holiday.

The visit to Cleveland Search & Rescue had been provisionally booked for 11th September; this will now be re-arranged to 13th November.

Action Point:

Chairman to confirm re-arrangements of CS&R visit.

A discussion took place regarding a donation to CS&R, a vote was taken: seven members agreed, two abstained.


Christmas lunch: Where and when. It was agreed to check out The Wainstones & The Fox & Hounds, probably on a week day, a Friday being the first option, but not 13th.

Action Point:

Secretary to obtain menus from both venues for discussion at the October meeting.


Funds remain the same as previous month. Awaiting notification that donation from Hadrian Hundred has been received.

Redcar Branch of Yorkshire Bank has closed; this will not affect our banking arrangements.

Walk Secretary:

Hanging Stone Leap as a social Walk took place on 3/8 with 18 members. 10 walked the short route, 8 on long route. Everyone enjoyed the day, huge thanks to Terry & Alan from everyone for the excellent support they provided.

Around The Moors on 17th from Clay Bank – C20miles.

Guisborough Wander on 31st from Guisborough – C19 miles.

Beautiful Bilsdale on 14th September from Newgate Bank. C18 miles.


Eva has sent out email to prospective walk leaders asking for walks between January and April.

Dave confirmed that Brian’s ashes are to be scattered at Roseberry Topping on Monday 9th September, meeting at the car park Newton Under Roseberry at 12.00 noon.

Future Talks:

Dave has been in touch with the person who delivers the Defibrillator training he is happy to deliver his talk to our group, looks as if January/February will be the earliest opportunity.

Action Point:

Dave to organise date and report back to Group.
