Below & Above The Hills

Tea Break at Oakdale

Below & Above the Hills

On Saturday 28th April, 10 walkers met in Swainby for a 15 mile walk. The weather was very overcast and we expected it to be wet, but as it turned out the mist cleared and it became a nice day with sunshine in the afternoon.

We set off from Swainby at 9am and walked through Arncliffe Woods towards Osmotherley stopping at Lady Chapel for a short break. We then passed through Osmotherley, Thimbleby and Over Silton before reaching Nether Silton where we stopped by the side of the local church to have our lunch break.

After lunch we carried on through the village and on to Nether Silton Woods. Climbing through the woods to Square corner we turned down through Oak Dale to the Osmotherley Reservoir where we stopped for our last break before walking over to Cod Beck Reservoir through Clan Wood and back to Swainby.

I would like to thank those who came on the walk, and hope all enjoyed it as much as I did.
