Calderdale LDWA

Dear Members

At the Group meeting dated 28th January we talked about the weekend away which originally was going to be, walking the Calderdale way however this would have meant two days walking 28 + miles per day.

Further research has been done by our chair, Jane and a proposal to walk 'The Bronte Way' which is 42 miles, 22 miles each day and stay mid way over night a a hostel that provides, bed (bunk beds) breakfast and evening meal, with its own bar  appears to be a more attractive proposition,

This weekend is open to Calderdale members waking the Bronte way, with concessions for walkers such as Alan Greenwood a long term and valued member of the group who may not want to walk the entire route but does want to enjoy the evening away with group members.

The purpose of the event is to bring the group together!!

We have had to plan a date to avoid disappointment with the venue, the date is 18th and 19th July, walking the first half on Saturday 18th July 2020, staying at the hostel and then walking the second half on Sunday 19th July,2020, please note this is a linear walk so we will need to consider how to return to our cars on the Sunday evening, (maybe by mini bus) also we will need to consider transportation of over night bags, but these issues will be on the next meetings agenda,

The weekend is being funded by Calderdale group, with the exception of the bar, (you could bring your own bottle)

Please confirm your definite place no later than the 14th Feb, to Karennash61@hotmail.com

If we do not receive your confirmation we will offer places to walkers from other groups who have kindly led walks for us over the past few months.

Thanking you all
