Standing in for Chris and unable to recce beforehand, with the help of Mary's GPS and some local knowledge from Eric we managed to find our way round. "It was all good except when it wasn't" someone commented at the end.
We got slightly damp but the pack remained good humoured despite the ploughed fields and the several stops to check the route and having to retrace our steps a couple of times (in our defence one path was diverted, and another  time the landowner obviously did not want walkers on his property).

We found the airfield, but sadly no planes.
