From the walkers:
Many thanks to all those involved in organising and running a thoroughly enjoyable, if somewhat tiring, day. I'm a bit stiff this morning, but it was well worth it. Best wishes John Esslemont
Just had to write to say thanks again for all your wonderful organising and support on yesterday's walk - it was all fantastic. I don't have everyone's email address so I wonder if you could pass on my thanks, appreciation and admiration to everyone who helped in anyway to make it such a memorable day. Off to Mull today for a birthday break and a rest! All the best Terry Brown
Many thanks for all your support yesterday. The organisation was spot-on, the catering excellent and I do enjoy walking without thinking, so thanks also to the walk leaders. Although I walked over 97,000 steps, earning my first Rocket Boot fitbit badge (yawn), and burnt over 5,000 calories, I consumed far more and put on weight. I'm sure I'd have eaten even more if we hadn't a schedule to keep to. I did consider dropping out at Woburn so I could keep scoffing, but I'd never have lived it down - reason for retirement = greed. Next time (if?), you must walk, and I'll support. Thanks again, M
Please can you pass on my thanks to everyone who was involved with the organisation of the Greensand Ridge Walk on Sunday. The leaders did a great job throughout the day and the support of the checkpointers at Northill, Ampthill and Woburn was really appreciated. Bacon rolls, pasta, bread, trifle, scones - we couldn't have asked for more. Norman and Gordon deserve a special mention as well, popping up at intervals to make sure we had enough drink and titbits to keep us going. So from one tired, footsore , but very happy walker - a big thank you to you all. Jackie Burnett
How can one walk 42(?) miles in one day and still put on weight? ...easy... ..enjoy an event organised by an amazing team of BBNers who spent hours organising it and gave up their entire Sunday to serve up the most wonderful meals and then still pop up with more drink and goodies en route, just when they were needed. Thank you all very much. Dee & Phil x
Please pass on our thanks to all those involved on the day, what an effort. Gill, Dee, and Dave for getting us from A to B. Merrian for making sure no one was left behind. Norman and his crew for the magnificent food and route back up. The written menu at lunch was superb. More than one walker said the effort was worth it just for the food. Graham Bayes & Vikki Kemp
PS, I never did see any green sand.
