Pick & Mix


The Pick & Mix challenge event, which was to have been held on 31st May 2020 has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for 6th June 2021.
Emails have been sent to all 2020 entrants via SiEntries confirming:
Entrants are offered: 1 = refund minus admin charge £2 2 = transfer to the new event next year 3 = donate to charity-Thames Valley Air Ambulance (minus admin charge £2)
All details for the 2021 event will be same, apart from the date!

PART OF BBN'S NEW TRIPLE CHALLENGE
showcasing three of our popular events - HANNINGTON HIKE, PICK & MIX and CHILTERN KANTER
Badge and Certificate upon completion of these three events (in any order)

VENUE            Great Missenden C of E Combined School, Link Road entrance, near HP16 9AE.   GR SP 896014   

START             From 08.00 onwards 

FINISH             All must finish by 18.00

OBJECT          To complete your chosen total distance in any combination of loops, on foot following route descriptions. These will be provided on the day & will not be available in advance.

                         There are 12, 8, 6 & 5 mile routes

DETAILS          The walk follows mainly field paths, tracks, woods & streams, through undulating country side with good views from the hills traversed of the Chilterns.                            

EQUIPMENT     We advise you to wear suitable footwear & clothing, also to have maps Landranger 165 or Explorer 181 & 172, waterproofs, your own DRINKING MUG & a compass.

SORRY NO DOGS AS H.Q. IS ON SCHOOL PREMISES.

PARKING          Please follow marshals’ directions. There will be some parking on the school grounds. There are also public car parks very close by which are free at the time of going to press

FOOD/DRINK    Entry fee includes drinks & food at HQ between loops & at the end  There will be a cold drink station on the 12 mile loop open from 09.30 till 13.00 only.

                           All other loops have NO support.

                           Refreshments provided are prepared & served under uncontrolled conditions; although, naturally, all practical efforts will be taken to maintain food safety. 
                           However from a legal standpoint, entrants should independently determine the suitability of the refreshments that we provide.

TRANSPORT     Great Missenden Rail Station is only 2 minutes walk away from the start.

AWARDS           This event is not a race & there are no prizes. However, a certificate will be awarded to everyone who completes their chosen distance. Badges will be available on request while stocks last.

ENTRY FEES     LDWA £7.00                      NON LDWA £10.00              UNDER 18s FREE
                            Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

                            ENTRY LIMIT OF 250.               NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY.

Entries will be acknowledged by email. If acknowledgement has not been received by email within one week, please email Mike. Entries close on Monday 25th May 2020                      

THERE WILL BE NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY & ENTRIES ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE

THERE WILL BE NO SUBSITUTIONS

A £2.00 admin fee will be charged on cancellations advised before 1st May 2020 after this date no refunds will be given.

ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT COMPASS & MUG (no mugs supplied).

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT Suitable footwear & clothing, mobile phone, first aid kit, waterproof trousers & jacket and waterproof covers for both route description & maps.                    

MAPS covering the routes O/S Landranger 165 or O/S Explorer 181 & 172.

Marked up maps will be displayed at the start.
