8 (plus Grom) started, my GPS clocked 14.5 miles.  Interesting introduction to the walk from Frances.  Welcome to Bob from South Manchester - we were holding him up, so we persuaded him to go ahead.  Frances and Pearl also chose a different, and at times much tougher, route, but that may have been to find the men in red.  Thanks for the jelly babies walk leader.  Next time, we'll park at The Sportsman's.  We saw many of those daft folk running up to Kinder Downfall on fell race.  Nippy, but glorious weather, and so dry underfoot, no peaty bogs.  Detour to visit a trig point, because it was there.  Beer and natter in the pub afterwards.
