AGM at Flitton - Minutes

AGM at Flitton

The Minutes are here

32 people attended our AGM on Sunday 24th November. We started the day with a 9-mile walk led by David Sedgley, who also organised the pub lunch and church hall for the meeting. Many thanks to David for organising the day.

Tea, coffee and cake were provided for the meeting, many thanks to Karen Earwicker for serving the refreshments and baking the delicious cakes.

The following were re-elected as:

  • Group Officers: Terry Brown – Chair, Peter Simon – Secretary and Peter Engledow – Treasurer
  • Committee Members: Mary Knight, Dave Findel-Hawkins, Gill Bunker, Alan Leadbetter, Roy Carter and Sara Waldron.

And we welcome Norman Corrin back onto the Committee after a well-deserved yearlong break.

All Committee members who have current roles / responsibilities have agreed to continue with their roles. We’re also grateful for those members, who aren’t on the Committee, who have agreed to carry on doing their BBN jobs.

We received reports on our activities in the last accounting year 1/10/2018 to 31/9/2019 and updates on the forthcoming year’s proposed events / activities including our challenge events, Group involvement with future LDWA 100 events, a weekend trip to the Marsden Moors challenge on 9 and 10 May, our new social walks day ‘Midsummer Meanders’ on Saturday, 20 June, a proposed Group walking break to the Grindleford area, possibly over the August Bank Holiday weekend and a trip to the Belgium ‘Death March’ event again in August.  Further details for all of these events will be circulated in future weekly updates and newsletters.

We briefly discussed the idea of making the Pick and Mix, Chiltern Kanter and Hannington Hike a ‘Triple Challenge’ – more to come on this in due course.

Next year’s AGM will be held on Sunday, 27 November 2020 in the Prestwood / Naphill area of South Buckinghamshire by kind invitation of Dave and Lynn Yorston.

The next Committee meeting is on Thursday, 30 January 2020.  If you have any feedback, suggestions or ideas about what the Group does, please get in touch.

All the best

Terry Brown
