What it is

The Long Distance Walkers Association (LDWA) organise their ‘flagship’ 100 event each Spring Bank Holiday Weekend. This event entails walking 100 miles in 48 hours. It is held in a different area each year - and in 2016 it is Dorset. There will be about 500 people starting the event on the morning of Saturday 28th May 2016 and they will walk with only short breaks until they finish. The fastest will finish in about 24 hours, and the slowest in 48 hours. There will be runners and walkers spread along the route during the weekend during the day and also at night. They will cause minimal disturbance, but you may be surprised to see them, especially at night.

The route will start and finish in Broadwey, near Weymouth, and will be an anti-clockwise route in broad terms bounded by Bere Regis to the East, Evershot to the North, and Beaminster to the West.

We have produced a leaflet with more detail of where it goes and when you are likely to see the participants.
