The map outlines the planned event route, and using the menus to the left below adds locations of points of interest (POIs), such as event checkpoints, London 2012 Games venues, LDWA Founders sites, and other visitor attractions, also listed below in route order. Click the location icons or listed names for more details, local maps and links. Mapping to local level with the event route overlaid is provided using OS free mapping (OpenData), that is similar to Landranger and Explorer mapping but without field boudaries, contours or the lines of other footpaths.

To see OS Explorer mapping with the location of each POI, such as a checkpoint, click its map icon or name in the list below the map to display an infomation page, and click the Streetmap icon there. If you use digital mapping, route trackfiles are downloadable here.  Event routes use some permissive sections that have special consents and routes may be varied due to path diversions, ongoing work at London 2012 Games venues, etc. The start section shown is schematic. There is an interactive map showing the main walk start assembly location in relation to the Olympic Park on the Gainsborough school website here. There are access notes on the Route Summary page. If walking the route before the event please use the rights of way routes in previous route descriptions and access updates that will be available on this site later on the same page.
