Twelve Dales to Christmas, the annual walk over the Yorkshire Wolds due to take place from Langtoft, near Driffield next Sunday (December 19) has been cancelled. The East Yorkshire Group of the Long Distance Walkers’ Association, organisers of the event, said that even without the forecast of further snow from Thursday the walk could not have gone ahead. With snow still deep on the high Wolds and the route being off footpath with steep climbs and decents, conditions are clearly going to remain unsuitable for several days.
