Ordnance Survey Maps

The Long Distance Walkers Association are now able to offers Ordnance Survey Maps for sale through our associate agreement with Amazon UK. Any maps brought through this channel will generate a small commission for the LDWA. There are currently four types of Ordnance Survey maps available in this way:

Landranger The 204 Landranger maps cover England, Scotland and Wales. Each map covers an area of 40 km by 40 km (25 miles by 25 miles)
Landranger Active In 2007 25 Landranger maps were issued in the Active format. The 204 Landranger maps cover England, Scotland and Wales, so only a few areas have Landranger Active maps, while all Explorer maps are available in this format. If you are buying maps to cover a long distance path, the map lists for Landranger maps in the two formats may not match, so please ensure you get all the maps that you will need. Each Landranger Active map covers an area of 40 km by 40 km (25 miles by 25 miles). The Active maps are an encapsulated map that is tough, durable and weatherproof. The maps are covered in a protective plastic coating that can be written on, so your favourite routes can be easily highlighted. They are more costly but more durable and may obviate the need for a map case, though they are bulkier and heavier.
Explorer Every part of England, Scotland and Wales is covered by 403 maps specially designed for walkers, off-road cyclists, horse riders and all involved in outdoor activities. The Outdoor Leisure map series and the Pathfinder map series have now been integrated with the OS Explorer Map series.
