Two Crosses Circuit. An 18 or 25 mile winter challenge across the West Pennine Moors. Both routes visit the Roman Cross at Affetside and the Pilgrim's Cross on Holcombe Moor above the Rossendale Valley. March 21st 2010 will see the staging of the 25th Two Crosses Circuit. To mark this special anniversary those completing the 18 or 25 mile route in 9 hours will receive a one-off commemorative Silver Jubilee badge as well as a certificate. Start Tottington Youth Centre, nr Bury (GR SD 777129) and walk over moorland paths and tracks in the West Pennine Moors. Mass start at 8.00am. Entry in advance: £8.00 (non-LDWA £9.00) including refreshments at 2 cps, hot meal at finish and commemorative badge and certificate. We expect the entry limit of 250 to be reached on this special event, but if it is not full then entries on the day will be £10. Please check availability if you intend to enter on the day.
