We are pleased to announce the revival of this old favourite in the Lakeland Mountains, a tough challenge of 23.5 miles with 7,300 foot of ascent.

This is a challenging mountain route visiting the beautiful mountains of High Spy, Newlands Valley, Hindscarth, Robinson, Buttermere Valley, Haystacks, Honister Hause and Dale Head.

We ran the event again in 2010 in memory of Eileen Knopfel, and are pleased to say we raised over £1300 in aid of Cancer Care.  We've had great feedback from you all and due to popular demand will run the event again on 14 July 2012.  The event starts once again from Rosthwaite and the beautiful sunshine of 2010 has been ordered!!  (Well, we'll do our best.)

Special thanks to Malcolm and Ann Busby for helping us to revive this event and doing lots of the preparations and research.  ENTRIES ARE NOW BEING TAKEN.

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
