Long Distance Paths

E8

European long distance path - E8 Atlantic to Istanbul

The first European long distance path to be designated, and opened, in the UK (in 1996) was the E8, which runs from Hull to Liverpool. This route is probably better known as the Trans Pennine Trail. It is planned to have an extension of the route through North Wales to Holyhead where, via use of the ferry, it can be linked up with the Irish branch of the E8. On the continent it runs from the Polish/Ukrainian border to the Europoort near Rotterdam.
