In Medieval times, the pilgrimage to Our lady of Caversham was a major destination of Kings, Queens, nobles, knights and peasants. This route follows the River 35 miles from Windsor to Caversham: the route royalty took to the shrine. The basically level route brings you to several towns and villages, rich in history, with Our Lady's Shrines.The pilgrimage can be completed our two days. Whilst walking besides the finest stretch of England's premier river. The quiet path allows time for contemplation, as you walk through nature full of delightful countryside and a wealth of Flowers and birds, For the pilgrim Caversham has four sites to visit, including a Holy Well before reaching St Ann's Church and the shrine of Our lady.
