The Gustav Holst Way is a medium distance route from Cranham to Wyck Rissington, via Cheltenham and Bourton. Each of these places has some association with the composer, and the broad stretch of Cotswold country between them was also well known to Holst, who spent many pleasant days walking in the uplands and dales.

MAY 2023:
Re-alignment of the 3-mile single-carriageway stretch of the A417 between Air Balloon roundabout (SO 935161) and the Cowley roundabout (SO 949134) is scheduled to begin in the Autumn of 2023. Large parts of the existing road will be 'repurposed' into a multi-user (walkers, cyclists, horse riders) Right of Way. The Gustav Holst Way will either be incorporated into, or cross, the re-designated route.
