Four Pits Walk

This circular route goes through some very pleasant East Kent countryside and visits the sites of the former collieries of Betteshanger, Tilmanstone and Snowdown, which all closed in the 1980s, and Chislet, which closed in 1969. The walk can be shortened to an 18-mile 'Three Pits Walk'.
