This is one of a series of six 'Ale Trails' from the Jennings Brewery, details of which are available from the listed website. The route of 27 miles goes from the Borrowdale Hotel in Borrowdale in a semi-circular way to Keswick, with a choice of bus or boat back to the start. The start is through a delightful mixture of woodland, crag and beck, up the flanks of Borrowdale followed by a high level, view-filled walk over the unassuming peaks of High Seat and High Tove to Thirlspot. From Thirlspot the route goes up the packhorse route to Sticks Pass and then breaks out onto the rounded giants at the northern end of the Helvellyn range before heading back to the comforting hotels, and dramatic scenery, of the Borrowdale Valley, and into Keswick.
