Allerdale Ramble

Cumbria
From central Lakeland the route heads northwards along the western side of Borrowdale and Derwent Water to Keswick. Here there is a choice of route, either across the foothills of Skiddaw or over its summit, before heading along the Derwent valley to Cockermouth. The Ramble then crosses the agricultural land of mid-Allerdale to reach the coast at Maryport, where it turns along the flat coastline providing extensive views across the Solway Firth.
