Dark Peak Snake

Derbyshire

28 km / 17 miles
An interesting route following the ridges and high ground encircling the Snake Road, which includes a wide variety of terrain and situations. Initially the enchanting Blackden Brook leads to the exhilaration of Kinder Edges, followed by the navigational difficulties of Bleaklow before finishing down the Alport Ridge passing the spectacular landslip of Alport Castles. A slightly shorter variation of 17 miles is possible by finishing down the glorious wooded Alport Valley.
