| Accommodation Info: | Braintspuddle Small Hostel welcomes walkers and cyclists. This traditional car-free hostel is situated by the picturesque Dorset villages of Affpuddle and Briantspuddle. The hostel is close to five long distance tracks and cycle ways: Jubilee Trail, Hardy Way, Purbeck Cycle Way (within 800m), Frome Valley Way and NCR2 (within 2.5mls). Making it an ideal stop over on a long distance route. Bike and walker courier is available from Moreton. The area is popular for day walks with a number of forest ,circular and linear routes. DH Lawrence’s cottage, Thomas Hardy’s birthplace and the Labour Martyrs’ museum are all within walking distance along the low Dorset hills. The Purbeck Coastline is a short cycling distance, mainly off road. Bring an OS Land Ranger Map to plan your days out. Families, couples and individuals are all welcome provided they arrive on foot, by bike or the local bus. Gareth will welcome you into his home where you will have private bedrooms with freshly made up beds and share the kitchen, bathroom and living room. There is a small garden and safe bike storage. Nearest pub 2 miles, nearest shop 4 miles. NO CARS |
