Accommodation Info

Barrowburn is an unspoilt valley in the heart of the Cheviot Hills. This 'get away from it all' location will refresh and relax. There's no electricity or mobile phone coverage. Lighting is provided by modern gas lamps, heat by real fires (coal provided) and there is a phone box nearby. Surrounded by the beauty and ruggedness of the Northumberland National Park this is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts with footpaths, bridle ways and challenging mountain bike trails. Nature lovers will enjoy the skylarks, deer and badgers. The old school camping barn provides basic accommodation for up to 17. The large main room has an open fire and sleeping is on raised wooden platforms. The kitchen has 4 burners and a sink with hot water. There are WC's and wash areas. To stay here you will need a sleeping bag and mat, cutlery, plate and mug, matches, firelighters, bin bag and a torch. Nearby is the Deer Hut, a basic bungalow with two twin-beded rooms, bathroom, basically equipped kitchen and cosy living room with fire and sofa-bed. Parking for 3 cars. Camping available.
