Accommodation Info

By The Way Hostel and campsite can be found in the Loch Lomond National Park halfway between Arrochar's peaks and the grandeur of Glencoe. The site, run by experienced hillwalkers, is aimed primarily at outdoor enthusiasts and with great walking (the West Highland Way passes by the hostel), climbing, white water paddling and gold-panning nearby, there is lots to be enthusiastic about (Munro-baggers can find 50 Munros within 20 miles). Accommodation options range from camping (with an indoor cooking/dining area and campers drying room), through a purpose built hostel (with twin/double rooms and dorms) to fully equipped Scandinavian style mountain huts, or for those wanting more comfort still, a three bedroom centrally-heated timber holiday chalet. By The Way is in Tyndrum with the village pub, shops, café and Tourist Information Centre nearby. The main Glasgow to Fort William road is 250 metres from the site (far from the madding traffic noise) and both the Glasgow Oban and Glasgow Fort William trains pass through (and stop in) Tyndrum.
