| Accommodation Info: | Shackleton Lodge is the brand new Brathay Exploration Group Field Quarters, in the heart of the Lake District, just over a mile from Ambleside and four miles from Langdale. It provides accommodation for 30 people in 5 rooms of 4 bunks, 2 rooms of 2 bunks and one room with 6 mattresses on the floor. Bed linen, sleeping bags and pillows are not provided. The lodge has central heating, double glazing, showers, drying room and facilities for the disabled. There is a large common room on the ground floor together with an additional room on the first floor which provides an excellent meeting and work space. The kitchen and dining room has a large gas oven, gas rings, microwave oven, fridge-freezer and a complete range of cutlery, plates, pans etc. It is centrally heated, has a gas water heater and provides a seating area with tables and benches. There is a barbecue nearby. Shackleton Lodge, self-catering accommodation - right where it matters! |
