| Accommodation Info: | The Golden Lion Bunkroom is part of the hotel and is situated in the Yorkshire Dales overlooking Pen-y-ghent. A newly-opened bunkhouse provides an extra 40 beds. These make an ideal base for the adventurous who are tackling the 'Three Peaks' or a welcome break for Pennine Way Walkers. It is believed that The Golden Lion was a coaching inn during the sixteenth century and the old coach highway can still be followed on foot. Three public bars provide a good selection of real ales and The Flag Floored Tap Room makes an ideal place for people who enjoy outdoor activities - even in wet weather there is no need to remove boots to enjoy a refreshing drink. At weekends this bar is used extensively by the local pothole clubs and singing sessions are not uncommon. Visitors with musical instruments and plenty of enthusiasm are welcome! A variety of food can provide anything from a beefburger to an à la carte menu. Vegetarian meals are also available. |
