This walk takes in three Roman forts, starting in Bardon Mill and heading N to Hadrian's Wall and the first fort, Housesteads. The route continues N of the wall on the Pennine Way, before turning W and eventually reaching the second fort, Great Chesters (Aesica). Turning E the route visits Vindolanda, the third fort, before returning to Bardon Mill
