Start: 07.30 from Purley on Thames (SU669763)
Route
(Check in at Tilehurst, then transfer to the start at Purley-on-Thames. Route then goes via Pangbourne, Whitchurch, Goring, Streatley, Stitchen's Green, The Ridgeway, Blewbury, East Hendred, Catmore, East Ilsley, Hampstead Norreys, Ashampstead, Yattendon, Pangbourne (again), Sulham and finally, Tilehurst. Lots of beautiful downland paths!)
General Notes
This is a team hike event and entries are only accepted as teams of 3 or 4. Sorry, no individual hikers. Individuals looking to join a team may enquire via the hike secretary. This popular long-distance competition hiking event has been running since the 1970s and attracts hikers from a wide field. You do not need to be a member of the Scout Association to enter and LDWA members receive a warm welcome every year. Organised by Reading Scouts. Shorter 28ml (45km) or 12ml (20km) routes are available for adult teams new to the Hike. Full details and entry forms available on the website or by e-mail. Registration of teams and payment of fees can be made on-line via the hike website. SEF not accepted

Entry: £23 per person in teams of 3 or 4 ; £13 for 20k route incl Friday overnight accommodation (bring a sleeping bag), breakfast, snacks on route, dinner on return, showers and car parking, plus services of medical team if needed. Certificates & badges for all awarded Sunday morning
