Spring in Lakeland

Thank you to all those who attended and enjoyed Spring in Lakeland 2011.

We will be running this event again, but in 2012 we will be turning our focus to organising Lake, Ridge and Wainwright which will take place on 14 July 2012. Please see our web page to learn more about this challenging event in the Central Lake District.

The route for Spring in Lakeland is from Ambleside, visiting: Loughrigg Tarn, Skelwith Bridge, Elterwater, High Tilberthwaite, Coniston, Tarn Hows, Skelwith,before returning to Ambleside. A scenic 22 mile event with 4900ft of ascent. 10 Hours time limit Start and finish: Ambleside Scout Hut GR374042. Entry £5 LDWA members, £6 Others. Check in: 07.00 Start: 08.00. Limit 150. Refreshments at 3 checkpoints, meal at finish, badge for sale.

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge and local group walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Group walks are normally led walks of up to 20 miles.
