Bassetlaw Hospice and Vermuyden Group would wish to extend a very sincere thank you to all who entered the last "Bash" and made it a very worthwhile and successful event in raising much needed funds for the Hospice. Frank Lawson and Dave Newbould from the Vermuyden South Yorkshire Group of the Long Distance Walkers Association presented a cheque for £1511.00 to Helen Eshelby and Ian Hall from Bassetlaw Hospice.  The money was raised by organising the ‘Bassetlaw Bash’ a challenge walk covering various distances around Bassetlaw, starting and finishing from Idle Valley.

Helen Eshelby, Events Co-coordinator said; ‘We couldn’t have done it without the help of the Vermuyden Group, who have been fantastic in planning the routes and all the administration for the event.  We are still collecting sponsorship money from people but the total raised is already in excess of £2000.00, so we are thrilled with the result.’

The final total raised raised by the event in entries and sponsorship was in excess of £3000! - So a massive thank you to all concerned -  walkers, runners, support volunteers and sponsors.
