It is with great regret that we have dissolved the South Lancashire branch. The numbers of active mermbers has fallen to a level where we cannot sustain a walks programme or run our annual challenge walk(the Beacon Bash).Starting with this weekend all walks listed in the walks programme are cancelled. The Trencherfield Trek that is run in conjunction with the Wigan Branch of the Remblers Assocation may  still go ahead. Former members of the Group may still run the Shevington Circular Walk and the Remembrance Sunday Walk in conjunction with Shevington Parish Council.

The branch was founded just over 30 years ago and  has run a number of challenge events starting with the Wigan Pier Walk and including the Highwayman Hike, the Promised Land Walk and the Lancashire Plain Plod.
