Annual Moorland Challenge - White Rose Walk
Entries are now being accepted for this year's Annual Moorland Challenge.
This year we will be tackling the White Rose Walk — a linear walk from Newton under Roseberry to the White Horse near Kilburn.
The format of the walk will be similar to last year's walk with transport being provided to the start of the walk, backed up by Penny and her team's legendary catering.
The cost of the walk will be £20 and to reserve your place please contact our treasurer Roger Wandless.
Please note that the number of entries for the White Rose Walk will be limited to 32 places — so book early!
Further details about the White Rose Walk can be found on the Moorland Challenge Website.
Please Note: The White Rose Walk comes in three different flavours; Short, Medium and Long. At the last North Yorkshire Committee Meeting, it was decided to do the Shorter 34 mile route. We believe this route is more scenic and passes a Pub. Also it makes life a lot easier for the support crew!
Also Note: That when the Short White Rose Walk route was plotted on the computer, a distance of 31 miles with 4,300 foot of ascent was calculated, whereas the book states 34 miles. So why not come along and see whose right the book or the computer?
