We had excellent weather throughout the whole event this year.  A number of recent trends were reversed: there was a slight decrease in the number of female participants and a small increase in the number of LDWA members taking part.  And we had some retirements for the first time in four years. To mark the LDWA anniversary, we had a birthday cake and we had balloons.  We also had a splendid marquee but that was fortuitous.
