| Route: | From Memorial Hall, Shap Shorter options of 18, 20, 24, 38, 42 or 44 ml. This exciting event utilises the superb and varied scenery around Shap (only 2ml from J39 of M6) to great effect offering several combinations of three circular walks each starting and finishing at Shap. As well as all three Rings consecutively we are offering and encouraging each Ring separately or combinations of Rings 1&2, Rings 1&3 and Rings 2&3 (depending on entries) for those who prefer a less demanding day out. Ring 1 (Mosedale 18mls.) – an intimate look at Eastern Lakeland’s hidden moorland, valleys and waterfalls with two “Wainwrights” thrown in. Ring 2 (Lyvennet, Leith & Lowther 24mls.) – rolling farm and parkland visiting the cream of Westmorland’s villages and rivers. Ring 3 (Great Asby 20mls.) – a limestone paradise incorporating parts of the Coast to Coast and Westmorland Way routes. Maps: OL 5 & 6 or LR 90 & 91 |
