Report of West Cleveland Circuit
Walk report of Sunday's social walk.
We met at Cod Beck car park on Sunday 13-06-2010 at 9 o'clock .17 people turned out: one from the South, one from Doncaster and one from Newcastle. The rest of the group was made up of familiar faces.
The weather was bad, raining right up until we set off, then it stopped became warm, with occasional shows all day. We made our way along the Cleveland Way at a good pace; tackling the first few climbs brought coats off.
Brian left as arranged and two others went with him. We had our first tea stop at The Lordstones cafe then continued along the Cleveland Way where Eva unfortunately had to retire with a knee problem; Albert went back with her.
Our lunch stop was at Clay Bank. Suitably fed, we carried on up the next hill to Round Hill, then back down to Chop Gate where we had a water fill up stop. Ron unfortunately had to retire with knee pain.
Down to 11 walkers we carried on up to Cock Howe and onto Head House were we had our final stop of the day. We carried on to our final climb which took us up to Black Hambleton.
We arrived back at 6 o'clock tired but happy!
