Minutes 12.4.12
Minutes of meeting held on 12th April 2012
Chairman had sent his apologies.
Treasurer: Carol reported finances in a healthy position.
Walk Secretary: Dave reported on the walk on 1st April led by Gordon from Rucksacks. Start point was Ripley. Longer than advertised but Dave offered to go by car to pick people up if they wished to cut it short. However it was good weather and no-one took up the offer.
Terry had led a walk from Ingleby Barwick on 17th March and despite thinking not many would be interested in the urban starting point, 20 people turned up. It was fascinating to follow Terry through the paths and woodland around Ingleby Barwick before heading out to Crathorne and back to our cars.
The next club walk is Carol’s in the Wild Boar Fell area starting at the Fat Lamb. Because of doubtful forecast for the weekend there will be a low level alternative – decision on the day.
Alan is to ask about transport for our Anniversary walk in September.
Hanging Stone: Eva said there had been some enforced changes to personnel, notably sweepers, but we seemed to be covered. We needed to check where the various equipment was to ensure that everything was brought on the day.
Any Other Business: Albert had spoken with Jill King and she will be happy to give us a talk. It would be walk related and later in the year. Date to be arranged. Possibly arrange for a snack to be available.
Meeting closed 8.45pm.
