A TOUR OF COOKS COUNTRY

A Tour of Cook Country

The weather all week was terrible but on Saturday it was perfect for walking, frosty with bright sunshine. 15 of us set off from Great Ayton at 9.00am. We walked across fields to Ingleby Greenhow where we made our first climb of the day up Ingleby Bank.  We stopped at the top for our first tea stop.  Suitably refreshed we set off along the Cleveland.Way, as we descended towards Kildale I led the Group off the road and down the side of Park Nab which was steep and rough, but worth it.

Back on the Cleveland.Way through Kildale then the second climb from Bleach Mill Intake straight up to Captain Cooks Monument, got the lungs going. Our second tea stop was at the picnic area - Gribdale Gate, then on to Great Ayton and back to the cars.

Thanks to everyone who attended for making it a great day.
