Post AGM Minutes - Oct 2011
Minutes for Post AGM Meeting, 13th October 2011
Secretary:
Edith reported that arrangements had been made for refreshments to be served at the quiz in December. These would cost £4 per head, paid for by the club.
Treasurer:
Carol said we would need to change signatures on the bank account and also arrange for her to use the website to access our account. This will be arranged at the next meeting when Alan will be back from holiday.
Walk Secretary:
Dave said we had two walks since the last meeting. Albert reported 17 out for his walk through Rosedale and Farndale, on a very foggy day initially. Went for a drink in the Lion afterwards. One new person out with us, with a promise to join us again.
Dave had 12 out on his walk on 1st October from New Marske Woods Car Park on one of the warmest days of the summer. Geoff showed us the excavations taking place in New Marske Woods which is thought to be the engine house of East Winnings Mine.
The next walk will be on 12th November meeting at Scaling Dam.
Walks are booked up to June of next year but Dave is looking for suggestions for new starting points.
Webmaster:
Paul said he had put on details of a new walk to add to those already on.
Any other business.
Eva reported that Durham Dales was being held on the same weekend as Three Rings of Shap and there would be no entries on the day. They were accepting on-line entries for the first time.
Geoff Smith reminded us that it was the 127th anniversary since the Greenwich Meridian was instituted.
Dave Firth said we needed to decide what we were going to do to celebrate LDWA 40th Anniversary at the next meeting. We also needed ideas for speakers.
Meeting closed at 9.15pm.
