MINUTES OF THE APRIL MEETING

Minutes of meeting held on 14 April 2011

Chairman: Dave was unable to come to the meeting.

Secretary: A letter of thanks had been received from Air Ambulance. Local Groups Secretary had sent information about a discount card available from Milletts/Blacks. These had to be applied for, our LDWA membership card would not be acceptable. A list of names was collected and an application will be sent.

Next year is the 40th Anniversary of the founding of LDWA and it has been proposed that all group will mark this by a walk on the same weekend in September. Some groups have indicated they do not want to keep to one weekend as many walk with other groups. General thought is that we will celebrate, but at a weekend of our choosing. Request for ideas on celebrating this.

Treasurer: Lock-up rent had been paid, £306 which was the same as last year except the extra VAT.

Walk Secretary:  19 people  out on Langbaurgh Loop. Thanks to support. It was agreed to give £10 each to Carol and Edith for cost of cakes etc. This walk has been led by Alan three times and each time it has been half an hour slower. One person was struggling but decided not to take the shorter option and finished the walk.

Albert was to lead the North Yorks Wobble in September but has decided to replace this with a 19 mile walk and do the Wobble next year.
