LANGBAUGH LOOP WALK REPORT
LANGBAUGH LOOP WALK REPORT
19 hardy walkers turned out at Saltburn at 0700hrs on Sat 19th March ready to start the Langbaugh Loop. The weather was good all day. Walkers came from Sunderland, Doncaster, Lincon, Oldham, Selby and Peterlee as well as locally. 18 completed the full route and 1 completed, as intended, the east loop (approx 24 miles). Excellent support was provided by Edith, Carol, Lynn, Geoff and Tom at two points along the way and was appreciated by all. It was also good to see David Wolsley (broken ankle at 2011 Tandem) out fussing over his wife Lesley who was walking with us. The last hour and a half or so was in the dark and this enabled us to see the largest full moon in approx 20 years as we headed back to Saltburn. The walk took thirteen and a half hours with GPS measurements varying between 38.5 miles and 40 miles. Special mention should go to Andrew Millar who was raising money through sponsorship from friends, family and work collegues for special garden play equipment for his autistic Grandson. Thanks again to the supporters and all the walkers for making it a good day.
Thanks, Alan
